LEGS
K4 on separate needle in the following way: K3, kfb alternately on last stitch until there are 8 stitches on the needle.  Divide evenly between 2 needles, work knitting in the round until leg measures about 6 inches.   To end leg, k2tog 4 times (4), then k2tog 2 times (2), bind off with tapestry needle.

Repeat this 7 more times to get 8 legs total.

FINISHING
Stuff the octopus body and legs, making sure to stuff the legs in a way that forms curling shapes.   Using tapestry needle and yarn, sew through the edge stitches of each leg at the base of the body twice around, pull tight, knot, and weave in ends of yarn.  Sew button eyes.  Hug.

  1. Love it! My kids are the happy recipients of a brown horse and a red dragon. They are wonderfully made; plush but sturdy and with great detail.
